Bangladesh is known as the greatest delta country in the world because of the three great rivers, the Ganges, the Megha and the Brahmaputra that flow through this land to the Bay of Bengal . So taking a river ride is indeed the best way to get into the heart of the country. A very good way to do this is to board the legendary ‘Rocket’ Paddle Steamer, built by the British about 100 years ago, and still running in its own unique way. The port of Barisal is situated in the southern part of Bangladesh and here you will discover something quite rare and valuable in the world, because this area is surrounded by rivers and canals; the lifestyle of the people is very different from the rest of the country. Floating markets selling vegetables, rice, fruit, and all other products are quite exciting to see in the morning hours. Dhaka
Arrive at Dhaka airport meet & greet our guide and drive to old Dhaka upon arrival board on to Legendary Rocket Steamer and refresh ( boat will start cruise at around 6PM so if you are having time then start sightseeing of old Dhaka visit Hindu street, Pink palace, Armenian Church, Star Mosque. Later back to Rocket Steamer and start cruising towards Barisal through the mighty Ganges & Meghna river and the great delta of Bangladesh. It will be a overnight cruise .
Barisal – Floating Market
Arrive Barisal in early morning transfer to your hotel refresh and after breakfast take a ride in a local transport (TUK TUK ) 45 mins and come to Bananipara and take local motor boat to cruise the Venice of Bengal see the floating vegetable markets buyers & sellers all comes on a small boat. Also visit village and see the rural lifestyle. In the late afternoon back to your hotel dinner and overnight in Barisal.
Barisal – Dhaka
After breakfast sightseeing of Barsal city including Boro Bazar, Christan Church then drive to visit a pottery village. In the late afternoon drive to river port and board on the regular passenger ship to cruise back to Dhaka .Overnight cruise.
Dhaka
Arrive Dhaka early morning and drive to airport to catch the flight for next destination.
